Whilst you may be more familiar with French doors for your patio, French doors for inside your home are a beautiful way to separate the various living spaces.
French doors consist of a pair of outward or inward-opening doors. Each panel is often heavily glazed to allow plenty of light to filter through from room to room. The glazing differs from style to style; some feature single glazed panels which run from top to bottom, whilst others have multiple glazed windows; perfect for those who like a little additional privacy.

Sidelights are additional glazed panels that sit on either side of your French doors. They are available in a multitude of widths and allow you to install French doors in openings that may have been too large to fit standard French doors. The sidelights are fixed into position and don’t move when you open and close the doors.
If you’re looking for the flexibility of a bifold door with the looks of a French door, then a Frenchfold door might just be the solution.

Frenchfold doors combine the very best of French doors and bifolding doors. They open in the middle, as traditional French doors do, whilst the side panels remain in position, acting like sidelights.
If you want to open your room up more fully then you can simply unfasten the side panels and fold the doors back on themselves as you open them out. The doors have the same arc as a conventional door; opening out to rest parallel with the wall.
